Os Seminários de Cultura e Comunicação da FLUL, que muitas vezes assumem a natureza da Masterclasses, são um espaço para a promoção de apresentações e discussões de temáticas relacionadas com os largos campos da cultura e da comunicação. Convidamos influentes personalidades académicas internacionais e nacionais para partilharem as suas perspetivas e a investigação vanguardista que estão a desenvolver.

Ben Compaine is a Professor at Northeastern University. His teaching and research interests include telecommunications policy, mass media economics, media and high tech entrepreneurship, as well as the political, social and cultural implications of changing information technologies. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in these areas, including Business Basics for Technological Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Media Economics, Information Technology and Policy, Entrepreneurial Marketing in High-Tech Industries.

Dr. Graybeal is a clinical assistant professor at Georgia State University. Research-wise, he is a media management scholar and entrepreneur who uses management theory to explore issues of media sustainability. He studies entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education, online and mobile strategy, new business models, micropayments and crowdfunding, among other topics.

Kent Wilkinson is a Professor and Director of the Harris Institute for Hispanic and International Communication, Texas Tech University. His research focuses on international communication, Hispanic/Latinx-oriented media in the U.S., and Hispanic health communication. He studies how language, culture and economics interact in national, regional and global media markets; a current book project examines how language difference is managed in electronic media, past and present.

Sylvia Cham-Olmstead is the Director of Media Consumer Research at the University of Florida. Her research expertise includes digital/mobile media consumption, branding and strategic management in emerging media/communication industries.

Professor Robert Picard is a senior research fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a fellow at the Information Society Project at Yale University Law School.  His scholarship focuses on the nexus between media economics and communications systems and public policy.

Jorge Nieto é Publicitário Especializado em Comunicação Empresarial, trabalhou como produtor delegado para a HBO Olé–TIME Warner Group e foi director da Fundación Artehoy e da Bienal de Fotografia de Bogotá. Entre outros cargos, é atualmente director do Design Thinkers Group (Spanish office) e dos Masters em Design e Inovação e em Gestão do Design e Empreendedorismo da ELISAVA, em Barcelona.
